Mount Kilimanjaro aka Uhuru Peak is the highest mountain in Africa continent.
It is in the northeast Tanzania near Kenya border. Kilimanjaro, with it’s three
volcanic cones, Kibo, Mawenzi & Shira, it’s a dormant volcano & worlds’ highest
free standing mountain. It is also known as the roof of Africa, about 4,900
metres (16,100 ft) from its base, and 5,895 metres (19,341 ft) above sea level as
measured. The first people known to have reached the top of the mountain
were Hans Meyer and Ludwig Purtscheller in 1889. This mountain is part of the
Kilimanjaro National Park and is a major climbing destination due to its amazing
greenery views. This is a non-technical peak but make no mistake as the
physical fitness is very important.
Many researchers are studying on its shrinking glaciers and disappearing ice
